DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — A self-proclaimed social media star caught on camera attacking a man in a “Minions” costume is going to jail.

The State Attorney’s Office said 24 year old Logan Paul could received a 10-day jail sentence for the incident.

Alex Nelson who caught Logan Paul in the act didn’t know what was going on at first. He was eating at a local restaurant nearby when he looked over and saw Mr.Paul casually walking down the sidewalk not knowing what was about to occur.

Intoxicated from the party he was at just an hour earlier him and his friends thought it would be a good idea to go for a walk. That’s when Alex heard Logan and his friends arguing with a Minion Mascot and soon turned into a wrestling match. Alex decided to take out his phone and record the situation, that’s when logan grabbed him and body slammed the Mascot to the pavement and kept proceeding to screw around and mess with the the man.

(DisclaimerNot actually Logan Paul)

Minutes in and there still going at until a store owner had to tear him off the mascot and drag him into his store just to restrain him. Authorities soon later showed up and questioned him and his friends about what happened and soon later took Paul down to the station.

Music Apps and their Influence on the Music Industry:

Right from the day Edison invented the phonograph, music and technology have been intimately converged and huge industries have blown up around recording, distribution and sales of music. As technology has changed so has the nature of the music industry but the rise of the internet, file sharing, online distribution platforms and social media have probably led to the biggest changes in the industry.

Dave Haynes, Head of Business Development at Soundcloud got asked if he thinks the digital creation & distribution of music denies the people the opportunity to listen to hi-fi? and Responded with:

“At SoundCloud we built a platform for creators and they care about the quality of their music. So we allow them to upload any file format they want, and then if they share the track with a contact then they download the original file. But when people are listening to the track on the site or via our mobile app we want to make that as easy for everyone as possible, so we don’t stream the original”. (https://theorganicagency.com)

With all of these up and coming streaming platforms coming about and with more and more artist wanting to post their music videos and lyrics I do think that the influence they have on the music industry is crucial to keep it alive and the more Artist making money the more money the streaming platforms make so it’s a win, win for everyone including the audience listening to them .

A World Without Social Media – Parker H

People these days have it easy, they look at their phone or computer and see what’s going on today, what the new hot topic is, or just talking to your friend over snapchat finding out what to do. But lets say all that never happened and what your reading here wasn’t a thing. No more Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, and even Youtube. So what that means is that you would have to make the time to contact or meet up with friends and family for a catch up instead of relying on social media.

These sites make us feel so involved in other people’s lives that we often forget to actually make the time to see them, which can impact upon the kind of relationship you have.

You would need to sit and listen to experiences and look at photos at someone else’s pace rather than your own. With social media you decide which statuses you want to read and comment on and which photos you look at and like.  Without social media you’d have to go back to the days where someone else is showing you their photos and telling you all about their life, whether you like it or not.
